This past weekend, we returned to Shops at Arrive River Oaks for an incredible morning with iconic cars and amazing people!
THE MORNING ROLL CALL
Unlike our other car shows, We start the West Ave Car Show a little later to be considerate of all the residents who live above the shopping center. Kicking off our morning roll call was a group of Shelby Mustangs. Some new and some old!
By 9:30 am, a line of amazing machines began to roll into The Shops at Arrive!
THE CAR CULTURE WEST AVE SHOW BEGINS!
As we finished off parking all the beautiful machines and spectators started filling in West Ave plaza, The Car Culture show kicked off and was off to an amazing start! We have been at the venue for a little over 4 years now and has become a crowd favorite!
Akama Lifestyle
Akama Lifestyle was in full effect at our August event! Akama brought there Lamborghini Urus and offered FREE Ride-n-Drives in their Audi R8! Akama is a luxury transportation service based in Houston, Texas! If you're looking for exotic car rentals, charter jets, and chauffeur services, Akama is the way to go!
COOL FINDS AT THE CAR CULTURE
We have some shows where we put emphasis on certain types of cars. It could be muscle, exotics, or imports. At West Avenue, we always try our best to diversity all the makes and models Houston has to offer! And this show was no exception to that!
1967 Shelby GT500
In the late '60s, Ford was at the top of their game. Going to head with Ferrari at Le Mans. Ford was able to take them on with their new 427 cu.in. 7.0 L V8 pumping out almost 400 HP. This engine was originally in the Shelby Cobras but Ford offered a special mustang featuring this engine and called it the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
Lamborghini Diablo SV
The Lamborghini Diablo SV was made between 1995 - 1998. It was a childhood poster car for many for its flamboyant styling, numerous air ducts, and being seen in Need for Speed games?. Its powered by the 5.7L V12 but has a 510HP rather than 485HP the came in the standard Diablo. The Diablo has aged really well and will be turning many heads for decades to come.
Ferrari SF90
Imagine having a car you manufacture named after your own success in motorsports over the course of 90 years, introducing the Ferrari SF90. Named after the Formula 1 car, SF90, the SF stands for the Motorsport department of Ferrari, Scuderia Ferrari, and the 90 representing the 90th anniversary of their history in motorsports. Compared to the P1's Powertrain, the SF90 has a total of 3 electric motors and a 4 L Twin-turbocharged V8 that put a face-melting 986 HP and 590 lb. ft. torque to the road. That meant that you could accelerate from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.
